Keep Focus on the Glass Balls!

As a juggler, it is easy to lose focus on the glass balls in the air. In the midst of a busy day, it is important to remember that there are only so many priorities you can juggle, and it is okay for some of them to drop. Keeping a clear vision of your goals can help you stay focused and achieve success in each area.

Plastic and rubber balls are used in a variety of industrial applications and equipment. Screen balls are used in screeners, separators and sieving machines to deblind or knock up screen or sieve openings plugged with particulates or powder particles. They typically consist of rubber or plastic materials because they can withstand impacts without prematurely wearing out the metal screens and cloth sieves.

Cyanoacrylate adhesives are one-part adhesives that cure instantly through a reaction with surface moisture and act as super glues.

Solid plastic balls are available in a wide range of grades, tolerances and sphericity. High-density polyethylene (HDPE) balls resist stress cracking and are more durable than low-density polyethylene (LDPE). Nylon balls provide good resistance to alkalis, petroleum products and mild chemicals and are softer and lighter than polyamide or polyimide balls. Polypropylene balls are abrasion-resistant and are used in check valves, light load bearings, knobs and toggle switches.

Xiros(r) plastic ball bearings require no external lubrication and are chemical resistant. They are also quiet and operate at lower operating temperatures than metal balls, making them a cost-effective alternative to steel ball bearings. Xiros plastic balls are comprised of a tribopolymer blend and have excellent wear, impact and corrosion resistance.
