Stainless steel balls can be used in rolling bearings and sliding bearings.
In rolling bearings, stainless steel balls are used as rolling elements due to their high strength, good wear resistance, and excellent corrosion resistance. Especially in humid and highly corrosive environments, or in situations that require high hygiene standards, such as food processing and medical equipment, stainless steel balls are highly favored for their corrosion resistance, hygiene, and high strength. In addition, high-performance stainless steel bearings achieve the same high precision and wear resistance as high carbon chromium steel on the basis of corrosion resistance, which can meet the application requirements of high precision and heavy load.
In sliding bearings, although stainless steel balls are not the main component of sliding bearings, stainless steel materials may be used for certain key components of sliding bearings due to their high strength and wear resistance in certain specific situations, such as those that require high impact and vibration loads. However, the main materials of sliding bearings are usually high-strength and wear-resistant materials such as Babbitt alloy, wear-resistant cast iron, copper based and aluminum based alloys, which can withstand large sliding friction and loads.
